Dr. Laurie is here to empower you with the knowledge and skills you need to live a balanced, thriving and happy life.

Dr. Heap…or “Dr. Laurie” as many caller her, graduated from the University of Kansas Medical School in 2001 and completed a year of internal medicine residency.  While working with people in the clinical setting, she realized that her calling was to help people in a more holistic way.  Over the last 20+ years, Dr. Laurie has been assimilating research from different areas of psychology, behavioral neuroscience, medicine and wellness to develop a unique program to teach people about the underlying mechanisms of happiness needed to live a balanced and thriving life.

 

Dr. Heap discusses well-being in terms of a slow climb up a spiral staircase.  This staircase consists of a center pillar and FIVE steps-which inspired the title of her FIVE TO THRIVE podcast.

Each component of the spiral staircase is an essential element in the pursuit of the balanced growth that is happiness.

The order and structure of the spiral staircase is deliberate and intentional because each topic contains skills and information that set the foundation for the next step.
